I collaborated with Arnelle Etienne and Pulkit Grover to write the above piece about achieving equity in Neurotechnology development. We first outline the history of racial bias in medicine and tech, including both software and hardware. Then, we showcase Etienne’s solution to EEG for coarse, curly hair (a project that I am now contributing to!) as an example of thoughtful, inclusive design. Finally, we give further general solutions to ongoing inequities in the STEM pipeline and pose further questions to consider. Click the link below to read the full posting.
